I am completely new to ASP so please forgive nay newbie errors I may make and my need for further clarification with things. I have been doing html and CSS for a while but I think for this case ASP may work best.
Basically, I have a site that is updated with the latest happenings of my band. The way I have it set up is that for each update I have about 3 lines of the updateand then a "Read More" link after it. I want the person viewing my site to be able to click on the link and see that update alone, and in full. I am doing this ucrrently through just creating a new page for every update and a link to that page which has the full update on it. This is becoming increasingly difficult as I update more and more, and I wouild imagine is taking up more space on my server than it needs to. Is there a way to simplify this process using ASP??
Thanks,
Dave

its very simple. Just use an insert sql statement and add a new row to an access data base. You can also update an existing feild. I suggest you buy a book on asp classic (or dare I say asp.net). This is the very basics and it would be best if you got a firm grasp on it with a good book.

Lol..yeah..I have no clue what you just said...but that's cool. Im def. gonna take your advice and get a begginners book for this because i think it would be very useful to know especially considering hwat I am trying to achieve with my current project. Could you maybe give me a little direction and send me a link to the specific FAQ from the 4guysfromrolla.com site that corresponds to my question cuz right now I am not sure where to begin.
EDIT: Also a link to a guide online guide for now would be appreciated. I think with that and the FAQs form the other site you gave me I will be in good shape to start learning
Thanks again,
Dave

I do not buy music anymore these days. I am a jerk that does not support the artists lol. If I did not get it from not so legal sources then I would not have music at all though... I would not spend 20 bucks on a cd.... Every so often a cd is worth that, but usually its 3 good songs then filler.

I love the music but hate the industry. Here in the us its gougeing. I think if someone would organise a boycott it would solve a lot of problems. I also like black sabbath... jus thinken of old ozzy. Is it just me or does the song 'dark saga' sound like old metallica?

True, is does sound a bit like old metallica. Their old stuff is great!
The *pop* music industry has always been a money making scam. Its even worse now with American Idol and crap like that.
AI is just a fantastic marketing ploy. It has nothing to do with music.

For a year I worked with a pirate radio station... we wanted to be a legal lpfm (low powerfm) radio station but the fcc had a backlog of applications and would reject all applications. We had a 5 second delay in broadcasting so we could filter profanity and had standards better then legal stations but we still got threats from the fcc. Fortunatly they never found us before we stopped on our own. The fcc did not really threaton us and go to our houses, but they gave us several seice and desist warnings. We had phone in requests too lol, I mean it would have been easy to find us... we had would have been able to pack real fast if we needed too, and considered doing our call in requests to a payphone. We had online requests too, but the server was in india.

One person in the back would drop an 'acapella' (sp?) beat with his voice lol. Just sart makeing noices Bah da Bah... etc. The we would have people free style to it and compete... it was fun to hear.

Ill see about dling some of their stuff. My links did not just have "how do i put crap in a data base" lol... so I would assume he needs some of the basic syntx for select insert and update statements. There are some slight differneces between asp and asp.net in this area, so this is where you come in mr. buntine. :D
