PHPBB (http://www.phpbb.com/) is the best big-time message board script I've seen sofar other than vbulitin but only go for that if you wanna spend some bucks.

Yea, I agree with you. For the price (Free) and the wealth of features it is well worth having. :)

The question to determine which you should choose of the afforementioned candidates would be: do you have access to a MySQL database, and if so, do you have enough room on it to support a forum system?
