Starting an Affiliate program

Does anyone here have experience running their own Affiliate program? Obviously, proper tracking has got to be head and shoulders above everything else, but what are the hurdles to starting up?

have you checked out CommissionJunction?

They run the affiliate programs for lots of people. I know that we use them for our affiliate programs.

Hey! Thanks for posting. It was getting lonely out here...

I haven't had time to look into it. Have been too busy juggling development projects to chase the subject (it's a nice problem to have, no?). Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep them in mind.
