On a site I have just started on I want to have an archive of text files that site users can add to using forms. Anything they add I would rather be checked by me first to see whether it is appropriate. I need the ability to have multiple categories, which hold the individual articles that are added. Preferable with a page that holds links to the most recent added files.

www.totse.com has a system similar to what I would like to use, although I have been unable to ascertain if this software is public and if so what it is.

I am unfamiliar with the coding of web applications so I need publicly available software, free if possible.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot guys and gals.

hi,
looking at the site you provided as an example i can get a good idea of what your looking for. As far as getting this as freeware or shareware i have never seen anything out there.
As far a building it yourself as a beginer would be like climbing a mountain. A good understanding of a server side scripting langauge would be required to build it. The cheapest way in my opinion would be to hire a freelance developer to build it for you.
hope this helps

I am working on a small budget so I will have to make some sacrafices in what I want then so I can find some software in the public domain. But I cant seem to find many pakages that fit into this area. I just need to know a realiable public domain archive engine that is eigther cheap or free.

hi,
sorry but can't help you on that one, but I would serch google for sites that have free scripts. Search for ASP Scripts or Pel Scripts or Php Scripts.
here are a few ASP script sites you can try to start you off.
www.aspin.com (http://www.aspin.com)
www.aspcode.net (http://www.aspcode.net)
www.aspfaq.com (http://www.aspfaq.com)

Hope this helps
