Why can't i download java vertual machine

There are things i can't do on the net, it keeps saying to view this right you need to download java virtual machine but i can't do it.
Can you help me please?:confused:

You used to be able to d/l from microsoft and IE is set to take you right to the d/l. The thing is you must have heard of big court battle with microsoft and SUN, will basically after that microsoft no longer provide a d/l for it. So to d/l follow this link http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html
