Hey, i have three JPEG images which, for some reason, have been stored in an MS Word document.

When the images were extracted, they are all corrupted and only showing up half the image.

The top portion shows correctly, though, the majority of each image is just an empty gray color.

Is there any method in which i can implement to recover the original images? I no longer have the word document. All i have is the semi-corrupted .jpg files.

Are there any tools available which will fix my images?

Regards,
Andrew Buntine.

If I understand you correctly, you have jpg images and not the original file from which they came. JPG images are not like psd or other file types where you can manipulate them after saving them. JPG images are un-changable unless you have the good copy which you stated that you don't so I'm afraid there is no way to recover them. Once a jpg has been saved it is un-changable unless you edit it or you have the good copy. Sorry to be the barrer of bad news. :(

Thanks for that..

The original word document is over 2000 kms (1100 miles) away. Its hidden away on one of the systems in the office i used to work in..

I will have to get someone to see if they can find it for me. I dont know who made the stupid decision to store images in word.

No problem... :)

I believe it was something added to Microsoft Word which makes documents more portable. I have never personally used that feature but I'm aware of it.

Well good luck with recovering them. ;)
