1) WMP
2)Quick Time
3) Real Player

only real player will play read media. I just simply to not use .rm files or real streams, I hate real media, they have ads all over their crappy little ugly player. I use winamp for everything else.

i use winamp too (i hear you about realmedia--GARBAGE).

problem is that winamp won't stream quicktime or windows media files that i simply link to.

how does one guarantee streaming? is it a server thing? is it a client option?

how does one guarantee streaming? is it a server thing? is it a client option? mpeg is the best format for a website stream. Windows, mac, and linux users can get it. Windows media player can handle the format, and quick time can handle the format.
