Is there any easy, generic way to determine if a window has been opened using a javascript window.open command?

There ought to be a way in these forums where the person who initiated the thread can say "Thanks - that answered my question" without it posting a new message. Sometimes great effort is taken to solve a problem for someone, and a thank you is always appreciated but not really necessary. But if one is happy enough to send a thank you, I think the little effort behind that in their own words are welcomed too. After thinking about it, would you agree webdeveloper.com
