Do things not got together or what ever you have to say. Positives and Negitives would help me out, make it a list plz. ray326 04-15-2004, 09:42 PM Wow the HTML on that page is totally messed up. HTML elements way out of place, script tags in the CSS, missing start or end tags, bad news all around. The Little Guy 04-15-2004, 09:49 PM What do you mean HTML on the page? Does it show the tags and all the code? To fix that should I put <!-- and --> in so it doesn't show up? I am viewing this in IE and it doesn't show any of that What are you viewing it in? steelersfan88 04-15-2004, 09:57 PM wel lyour menu and everything is done in tables, so I will stop there (plus we only have 10,000 characters to type everything, just messin') The Little Guy 04-15-2004, 10:04 PM Do you see the code now? If not I no what i did wrong. If you still do than i dont no what i did wrong. ray326 04-15-2004, 11:38 PM Originally posted by The Little Guy What do you mean HTML on the page? I'm looking at it rendered in Mozilla Firefox and IE 6 and I'm looking at the source. Here's what I see, tag sequence, condensed. <doctype <html <head <style <style {what?!} <! 0Catch CODE ... { WHAT?!?!} </noscript> {HUH?} </div> {YOW!} </xmp> { insanity! } </style <style </style <table ... </table> { IN THE HEAD! } ..more page HTML.. { in the HEAD } </style { WHAT?!?!} <link..</link> <title..</title> <meta </head> { FINALLY! Way too late! } <style..</style> <body.. normal stuff </body> </html> Sorry to sound like Simon Cowell but that is crap. No rational browser should turn that into anything but an error message. The Little Guy 04-16-2004, 10:44 AM So your saying my whole header is messed up. As I look at it, it shows up normal how I want it to look, I went to TechTV's message boards and alos asked for some reviews and they saw what I saw. crh3675 04-16-2004, 11:01 AM There is in fact an untermintated STYLE tag on your page. Regardless of how your browser renders it, the code has errors. You have multiple (5) style declarations in the page, Why? Condense them to 1. Here are the results of your code run against the W3C validator: http://www.htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/validate.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.abandonfire.150m.com%2Fabandonfire.html&warnings=yes You may want to clean it up a bit. ray326 04-16-2004, 04:11 PM It's interesting that people don't believe there is such a thing as correct HTML and that "how it looks in browser X" is the definition of "valid." The Little Guy 04-19-2004, 10:25 AM How does it look now? I put it in an editor that looked for the errors and I fixed them. rhsunderground 04-19-2004, 11:56 AM you have a stlye tag on line 121 that terminates nothing: <a href="http://www.thefreesite.com/">The Free Site</a> </center><BR> <!POP YES 1 1082389805-0 ></style> PhillMc 04-19-2004, 03:58 PM Asidef from what has been posted ( that I have also noticed ), black links are hard to see with your choice of BG; The hovers are worse as I know have a heaeache. Your body text color REALLY needs to be toned down, esp with a black link in the middle of it all. Your layout was done in tables {BAD}, suggest the use of CSS for Presentational Markup. Now, I will go and take some tylenol. :) Stopper31 04-19-2004, 10:15 PM Aside from what's been mentioned... on your wallpaper page, if you're going to use a thumbnail... it should be a thumbnail image, and not the original scaled down with the use of a height and width. You only have 3 for now, but the file sizes are huuuuuge... just think if you ever get like 10 or more!! Use your favorite image editor and scale the images down to the thumbnail size (100 x 100)... then they won't take long to load! I just got a chance to look at that. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY ERRORS ON ONE PAGE (Unless this was written in FrontPage). it's my opinion that you would be better off trashing the current version and re-writting ;) dera 04-21-2004, 01:59 AM u need a queer geek for the straight website, ur websites colour scheemes hav all gone wrong!! hard to read fix it up The Little Guy 04-30-2004, 09:51 PM What colors would you suggest? dera 05-02-2004, 02:20 AM somthing more readable, the colors are fine, but text is black choose a lighter color for that like white or somthing. cputek2k 05-06-2004, 12:30 PM This site needs help. Not sure what was going on with it but it never did load everything for me. At least you are in good company to fix it... ;) webdeveloper.com
