Hi, I already posted this in the DHTML forum... but hasn't gotten much response.. soooooooooooooo

I need a drop-down menu for this site I'm designing:
http://www.voyage.isurf.ca/uth/uth_splash.html

See the parts of the top frame that say 'c o r e' and 'm a i n'?

Well, what I want there is this: when you mouse over those areas in the image map, a drop-down menu appears.

I VERY little knowledge or skill with this type of thing, since my only previous experience in web design is in HTML and graphics design.

I'm thinking I would need to have an 'onmouseover' event in the HREF in the image map that refers to the drop-down menu javascript file. But I have no idea how to do this properly... So here's where I need your help:

1. Need drop-down menu
2. Need to know how to implement it into an image map.

Any help in either of these areas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would not worry too much about that menu - most visitors won't bother going past your splash page, especially it they are required to disable something. :p

I suggest you learn about web content accessibility, and that will also answer your menu question

Hi,

There are hundreds of menus out there, excellent ones too so I am not about to write one. However in saying that I have done a very basic one for your top page just so you get an idea.

thank you sooo much.

And since it doesn't work over top of the main frame, I'm going to scrap the frames and make it with tables.

That way, I won't need a pop-up. Or even a splash page for that matter. =)

Do you want me to give you credit for the menu? I never would have figured out how to do that. lol.

No, no need to credit me. Glad your happier.
If you need more help on this just PM me.

I'm pretty sure there is way to get it working across frames I just do not know how. I had this issue with a huge and rather excellent menu someone else has written but cannot remember how I got it to work.
