How to select ISP?

Please advise what are main criterias to select ISP? Based on your experiences, what are the benefits and drawbacks of your current ISP? Please give some examples of good ISPs.

well from my opinion if you want a broadband provider you want
-reliable service
-good customer support
-fast (or fairly fast) connection
-within your price range (whatever that may be)

i use adelphia (http://www.adelphia.net), i have had a good experience exept for that they dont allow servers of ANY sort, and therefore i need paid hosting somewhere...but thats the only drawback thus far...
