Hi
Here's a site I'm developing - still lacks sub-page content - and I know isn't HTML or CSS valid (yet) but I'd be interested in what you folks think about the layout.
The logo and colours were "given" to me.

Well, I think you should choose a better picture for that logo. Maybe a pic with high quality. Iam sure the site will get a whole new face then. Iam sure people would be glad to see a sunny view of Mountains rather more than a rainy and cloudy valley even if the site is about tours in Scottland.
The Logo is quite good...

I enjoyed to check your personal portfolio page. Cool design and good work. The only point you shouls some changes could be the font of the text "Portfolio". You could use an other more comfortable font but Square 271. Square 271 gives a too modern and strict air. Good work again...anyway

Thanks for the pointers. The rainy-looking valley is one of a few randomly selected images that can appear in the top corner - you're right though and I need to remove it and find a few more sunny pictures. 'Sunny' doesn't happen much in Scotland mind, especially in the Highlands.
I'll change the "Portfolio" text as suggested.

why do you have backround images defined as regular images and all this absolute positioning all over the place? it makes it really difficult to resize the text.

So you mean, rather than have an <img> within <div> tags, you say it's better to define the background url from within the CSS definition?
I tend to contruct a large amount of the page graphics as a single image with elements like text and buttons layered ontop. I'm trying to break out of this as it can be quite inflexible when dealing with various window sizes. I found myself using tables again (boo!).
I'll give it a go and see what happens.
it looks very proffesional, nice logo:D
