really odd internet issue

So, back in october, my internet provider gave everyone 2Mb/s internet as a trial, and it was supposed to reset to your old speed on April 24 (today). I'm very upset to be losing my 2meg in exchange for my 256kb, but thats beside the point. Anyways, as of this morning, I can only load two webpages (this page, and my webmail). everything else (google, yahoo, mezzoblue, ryanbrill, etc.) is all down. I know the webmail and the forums aren't cached, since its letting me post still, and I got some new email. Other than that, I'm really not sure what the heck's happening. Its not even loading the mediaplex banner that is usually to the right of developer news. Has this ever happened to anyone else? let me know.

What kind of an ISP is that? :p I'd get a new service, that's the only way companies learn - when their sales go down because of what they've done. I have TXU Communications as my ISP, and they are sometimes down during the day, and it really frustrates me; they lowered their $50/mo. rate to about $20/mo. now, because they knew we'd probably leave them if this kept happening to us. We would get cable, instead of this DSL, but RoadRunner doesn't provide services for our side of the freeway. :(

Anyway, I'd try giving them a call.

well, this is the first time they've ever been semi-down, so i figure i'll give them an hour or two to get their act together before I call

I have TXU too and it stink when it is down, cause it is usually down an entire day.

Well, then it's probably because it's only allowing you to view the more superior web pages :p
