Hi ,

I have set up my favicon.ico in my webpage by adding it to the same directory as my index.htm. And also added the code <link rel="shortcut icon" href="Images/barrys.ico"> to all my pages. And it all works fine. but if I delete my cookies the icon disappers. But www.google.co.uk has an icon but that doent disappear when I delete the cookies how do they do this. Also I have tried to search for the google icon on my computer but cant seem to find it

Can anyone help

Thanks..

Phil.......

I'm pretty sure that's an IE bug. I think it's something to do with facicons being added to the windows icon cache. If you rebuild it (using TweakUI) it is supposed to fix it.

Hi,
Your favicon image should be in the root directory of your web space not a directory.

It is also a good idea to call this image 'favicon.ico'

Hope this helps

That is NOT correct. It can be but it does NOT have to be.

The only reason to have it there and name it favicon.ico is if you are too lazy to add a proper link on your webpages + don't care that not adding the link breaks favicons in browsers other thne IE.
