Hello, my name is Dan Watkins and I need an hour or two of someone’s time to look at my website, in order for me to graduate out of High School.
--I go to Clackamas High School
--I did something called a Senior Seminar Project; it is supposed to benefit the community.
--I did this project and I had to present my website to a panel and I passed this part of the project.
--The second part of the project (I supposed to do from the beginning) was to get a community consultant, and for them to grade my effort, quality of work, and to help me along in the process of completing the project.
What I need from YOU—first I give you a Community Consultant Packet. Then you review my website, and write down what the good parts are and areas that could be improved and how it could be improved overall. Please look at code and content as well. I just need one person to do this.
So, who will help bail me out??
Greatly appreciated!
perhaps we could get a link? we can't really review your site without knowing where it is... Also, you should have posted this in the website rewview forum

I need one person to review my site
+ I need to give them a little paperwork to go with it.

You don't want me to review it. Trust me.

It's ugly both on the surface and inside...
...when you set to do something, you need to learn about the task. When I look at that site I see no such effort. Giving such site out, would be huge disservice to the recipient....

Neither of you have given this person anything but smug remarks. Why bother responding to this thread if all you can do is insult?
The least you can do is address the issues one by one in a positive manner giving suggestions and offering ideas. Isn't that what a Moderator is supposed to do?
And if this forum was designed for professionals only, why doesn't it say so?

There are countless books and sites that explain THE BASICS. The OP obviously have not bothered researching them, before making his site. He asked for review - I gave it to him, so he can go and do his homework.

But no, he asked someone to take an hour or two of their own personal time to write down a review of his site for some school project. I was mearly letting him know that he would not like the outcome of the review if I were to be the one to do it.

It's ugly both on the surface and inside...
So this is the best you can do. Why didn't you suggest some of these books? Or websites where they can "review the basics"?
If a 6 year old came to you with a picture they drew would you dismiss them with "It's ugly both on the surface and inside" and tell them to "go read a book and learn the basics"?
They are obviously just learning HTML and web design and felt that it was good enough for someone to look at.
Not everyone is as perfect as you are and I'm sure your very first website was stellar, full of imagination and perfectly organized.

Then why respond to this thread at all?

Look, if this kid needs reassuarance, he should have gone to his mom for review. This is not www.improvingmyselfesteem.com either. My first web site was not perfect, but I did research and learn before I attempted to make it, and then I did not ask anyone to review it, but kept working on it.
Recommend books, you say? The guy asks one to spend an hour reviewing his site, yet he would not spend a minute googling "Introduction to web design".
As far as "ugly inside out" - that was after a thick layer of sugar-coat.

1. If someone gets knocked around by the truth-straight-up - that is not my problem.
2. :D :D My "allergies" are good enough for me - no desire to improve them... :D :D

Pyro and Vladdy are more than right
.... but since im a nice guy ill give you a few tips:
delete your website and start from scratch....
go to w3schools (http://www.w3schools.com), and learn everything there is there on html and css.....if for some reason you dont want to use css, read this (http://www.alistapart.com/articles/fear/)
and of course you could always go to w3 html specifications (http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/) and the Cascading Style Sheets Home Page (http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/). once you have read all of that, take a look at a few amazingly designed sites, such as ryanbrill.com (http://www.ryanbrill.com/), making sure that your site doesnt end up on pirated-sites.com (http://www.pirated-sites.com/)
im sure after looking at those resoruces, and whatever others that some people might suggest, you will know how incredibly right Pyro and Vladdy are, and im sure you will take the time next time to figure out something about a project before doing it :D
and if somehow you can master those in the time you have, you could always learn php (http://www.php.net) ;)

it appears that you are the only 'nice guy' in this forum.
Unfortunately I don't have time to delete my website and remake a better one before the end of the school year (June 2nd).
I am not looking for everyones opinion on how basic my coding is, focus on the appearance of the pages and content.
Generally, spelling is moderately important, especially for a school project... For this reason, I'd like to make sure you know that a lot is two words, and the most of the time it is best to capitalize the first letter of a sentence.

First off I’m not the only nice guy in this forum, this forum is FULL of nice people, willing to help, just so long as you do your part!!! no-one in their right mind, with any website design experience is going to give you a nice review if
1) Your pages look like crap. We are being honest, and are telling the truth that we are helping by telling you this.
2) The coding is bad (and if you are designing a site for aesthetics, then it should have valid code - a site without valid code typically looks bad)
3) No one is going to take an hour of his or her valuable time to write about how amazing your site is, because YOU won't take the time to make a good site, so why should we make a good review
...And if I understand correctly, you need a good/passing grade on a senior project in order to GRADUATE in most schools, so why wont you take a day or two to make an at least moderately good site?
We told you how to make it better - which is what you wanted, a review, so if you want to get a good review......do what we say----the sites that people make in this forum are amazing, TAKE A HINT and you can learn a lot…
BTW: As a side note - if you want help, i suggest that you don’t insult people -- e.g. having "yourmom" as a signature doesn’t help your case (anyway it should be "Your mom!" -two words, capitalize the beginning of a sentence and make sure you have punctuation!)
Oh and samij586, he spelled "Contact me" as "contactme." LMAO

I have made many changes to my site since I last replied. Please take a look at it!

I have tried to make the appearance of my site better, I think successfully and I have made sure that all links work + added News section.
Thank you

dude, if you want to make your website better, which no offense, looks like it was the construct of a beginner, i mean really a beginner, which you seem to be, no offense of course(I was one too!), you should go to the web coding learning website all of us really should of gone to first learn (which of course I didn't cause i didn't find out about it till after i really got into website coding) http://www.w3schools.com Very easy and basic tutorials will have you going in no time! Also look at other professional website to get inspiration from.
Oops sry, i didn't know that there was a 2nd page and someone already said this, deja vu huh?
And by the way, i don't really see a big difference.

And if you are very desperate for help, well, the first step is:
get rid of your background. I is just too messy. You can hardly read the text, or actually, you don't want to read the text because you don't want to spend the effort. Remember, the website is supposed to look good to the viewer first, not you. And the viewers are definetly saying :( Try again.
