Can I get someone's opinion on a banner I made?

Hey everyone, could you tell me how to make this (http://aw2.firewebx.com/sun_banner.jpg) banner look more professional? I was thinking maybe an effect on the text, but Im not sure which will look best, any one have any ideas on how to improve this?

I'd say it would look better with a flat red, in either courier or Lucida Console...

Just tried it, when I save it, and upload it ends up looking "smudged". Im not sure if its the color or font.

yes, probably about 11-13pt would look best

saving in photoshop as .jpeg, #7 as a quality number...

that would be the problem, you might be better in this case just using the background image, then placing the text on top of it with css...

You need to anti-alias the text. When you select the text tool, and type your text, up at towards the top of the screen, where you can pick the color of the text, there should be a button-ish type thing, kinda looks like a chart. Click on it, and in the lower right-hand corner there should be a drop-down box with "None," "Sharp," "Crisp," "Strong," or "Smooth." (That's how it looks for me, with PS 7)
