I am looking for information on setting up a page on a web site where visitors can go to enter their name and email address and click on a send button and have a form letter sent to several elected officials from a list.
I have seen this sort of thing on web pages for Common Cause and other web sites, so I know it can be done.
Any ideas on where to find information on how to do this would be appreciated.

sure you can do that using a server side technology. Do you use ASP or Php or Perl?

Well I don't have ASP with the web hosting,
I don't mind learning Php ot Perl if it would be useful for doing web pages. Is one significantly more useful than the other for getting things done on web pages? Is one easier to use? or more versatile?

I just checked with my web hosting company and they said they could upgrade my account to support the ASP scripting language.
Will that work?
ASP will work very nicely.
