I wish. They sold out in 20 minutes. I've been trying to get Series tickets since I was old enough to ride the bus by myself in '67. I got really, really lucky and finally went to one in '85. I only went to one playoff in '82, I think.

I love World Cub soccer, ufortunately it only comes around every 3 years. Plus, is only local once or twice in a lifetime. Just my luck, when it was actually in the US, it was during my 3 years living in Europe. I still watch several European football games a week, paying extra to get more games to choose from. I had a girlfriend from Manchester so I had to be a Red Devil fan, but my favorite back then was Sheffield Wednesday, they let Americans play before it was cool. I've often considered changing my Avatar to their logo just to see if anyone said anything. Wow, back on topic.

<edit>Funny, I hurried to type all that because I have to get going to my son's high school soccer game. It is in a town (Hannibal) about a 2 1/2 hours from here, but I never miss a game.</edit>

St. Louis, btw, is a hotbed of soccer/football. At one time considered the center of US soccer having more soccer teams and fields than anywhere else in the US. St. Louis University was the reigning college team winning many NCAA championships over several years, all with local players. The professional league, MLS, contained many St. Louis born players.

Soccer has picked up popularity here in the US in the last couple decades, but if a World Series, Super Bowl, or NBA championship game was on at the same time as a World Cup final game, I think a lot more TVs in the USA would be tuned to the former (even if the USA team actually made it to the finals in the World cup, though it might be a close thing then).

Back from the game, a 2-2 draw. I hate draws, that's my only gripe with soccer/football in general. But, my son finally scored his first goal this year so it's all good. My main gripe with MLS is that they don't run their season in conjunction with the rest of the world. Makes it tough during World Cup and other international competions.

I used The GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) along with a couple images I found on the web (the Intel logo and the ant), and then did my thing, finally scaling the image down to the allowable size.

No, its a stategy game. the numbered tiles show how many mines are in the squares touching it, so a tile with a mine on the top left, bottom, and right would show 3.
you use the uncovered tiles to figure out where the mines are, through logic, and you right click on a square where you think a mine is.

I don't doubt that. Goodness in a duck knows no bounds in life or dinner, of course it would manifest itself as mouthwatering flavor. However, I prefer them as friends.

Finally had time to actually post again. I'm usually checking this site out at work, and have to stick to actually web development topics when posting from there.

Ducky Fuzz was a drinking game we occasionally played back in the dark ages while I was in college. You actually needed everyone to be a little intoxicated before playing. It was real simple. Everyone would sit in a circle. The person to start the game would look either to their left or right and say fuzzy duck. The person they looked at would then either turn the other direction and say fuzzy duck, or look back at the person and say ducky fuzz. This would continue faster and faster until someone messed up and had to drink. I know, silly game.

Unfortunately, my alma mater just lost the MAC championship game, and so will not be going to any bowl game. :(

They beat us in this same game last year, but only barely. We had a touchdown called back on a very questionable penalty, or we would have won. Having said that, our team isn't nearly as good this year.

As usual, rhsunderground wins. Next clue was to be that Wednesday became my favorite day back in early 1991. Most people thought I liked them because they were very good in the early 90's (not even in the Premier League now). But actually, it was because they had an American playing for them waaaay before it became a more common occurance. Also, after one of my club games against an all English team in our league, one of them told me I was pretty good for a Yank. That night, several players from both teams were at my house to watch a Wednesday game, since it was actually available in my neighborhood (lived in the Netherlands). During the game, John Harkes was described by the announcer as being pretty good for a Yank. Kind of made me feel a kindred of sorts.

Not quite. The technical terms would be G clef and F clef. Whether they are treble and bass depend on which line they are situated. If the G clef is situated on the bottom line of the staff, then it is the French Violin clef. If the F clef is placed on the middle line of a staff, it is baritone; if on the top line, it is, I believe, the contrabass clef. (I'm not quite sure).

While you are correct for older musical notation, in all modern notation (i.e., the last couple centuries), the G clef is used for the treble clef and the F clef is used for the bass clef. The only clef that still wanders is the C clef (http://www.music.vt.edu/musicdictionary/textc/Cclef.html), and is rarely found now being used for anything other than the viola.
