Not quite and correct in that: It has absolutely nothing to do with a traditional belt, but Orion's belt IS a step in the right direction, though a little far afield. Think of something a bit closer to home.

That was an obvious last hint sunny .....
I looked at that logo and knew it was a programming language or OS and just had to wrack my brains for a few mins. I believe its one of the O's out of the microsoft logo on the second generation MS logo that originated sometime in the 70's. The logo that replaced the original MS logo in black and white split over two lines and the logo before the famous MS logo in the 90's ....

I think it was some sort of birthday thread. Unfortunately, I can't exhume that one, as it was locked. And it ran to well over 1000 posts, while this hit the 2000 mark about a year ago, I think.

back in the good old days there was no coffee lounge. the basic rule of thumb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thumb#Origin_of_the_phrase) was that threads were to stay on-topic (and web development topics only) during the monday-friday week. on the weekends, the moderators let off a little bit and threads were allowed to get "silly." come monday, however, threads were to be back on-topic. the creation of the coffee lounge in april 2004 brought a place to have "off-topic" discussions whenever we wanted. quickly this became, per capita, the most-discussed place on the board as shown from this post on 02-28-2005:
the lounge now has 26 threads of 100 or more, including 7 of 200+ and, of course, 2 of 1000+. the lounge currently sits at 27.52826855123674911660777385159 posts per thread, ahead of the 9.0482985729967069154774972557629 for the websites review forum. i appreciate the effort of all of you, trying to keep Jick and i ontop of the most powerful forum in the WORLD!!!

We've been discussing thread lengths, and I decided to have a look through the various forums I could get at and find out what was the longest threads in each.
For most of them, I have 1 post, but if the largest thread(s) is/are sticky and/or locked, I'll include that/those plus the largest unsticky open thread as well, giving a maximum of 3 "longest threads".
I can't give statistics for forums which have no threads I can access (which include #8, #12-#15, #17, #19, #23, #35), "forums" which are essentially groups of forums ( #1: Client-Side Development; #18: Server-Side Development; #32: Etc.; and #39: Site Management), forums that simply redirect me (#34, 36, #38), or the E-Commerce forums (#24 and #25, which I don't think I should have been able to access), but for the rest, I give the forum thread name, a link, and the post count.

I can't give statistics for forums which have no threads I can access (which include #8, #12-#15, #17, #19, #23, #35), "forums" which are essentially groups of forums ( #1: Client-Side Development; #18: Server-Side Development; #32: Etc.; and #39: Site Management), forums that simply redirect me (#34, 36, #38), or the E-Commerce forums (#24 and #25, which I don't think I should have been able to access), but for the rest, I give the forum thread name, a link, and the post count.

Actually, it's a very fair representation of a lot of the problems with using google: Sometimes you simply CAN'T find what the heck you're looking for, because the words are so common!
Here's another thing to google: Recorder. How many links have anything to do with music? (Thanks to Wikipedia, you CAN find something on the musical instrument.)

Eh, soccer. I've tried watching it from time to time over the years and just never got into it. A bunch of guys running around for 89 minutes of aimless activity punctuated by maybe a total of 1 minute of excitement. Supposedly highly trained athletes who when kicked in the shinguard roll around in agony like they just received a compound fracture, and then a minute later are up and playing again. And 90% of the time when it looks to me like something exciting is finally going to happen, it's blown dead for being off-sides. :rolleyes:
But then I enjoy baseball, yet I realize those who have not grown up playing and watching the game usually have little to no appreciation for it, so I suppose it's the same for me. We played soccer maybe once or twice a year in gym class in high school, and that's about the extent of my playing experience, and it had just about zero coverage on US television when I was growing up.

Only thing wrong with my upload was me trying to do it too fast during lunch break. I was using the wrong size pic - right size for another forum I frequent. As far as Chelsea, a couple of years ago maybe, even if I hate to admit it, but right now it is absolutely Man U. How can anyone argue with the current champions of England, Europe, not to mention the World?
Even though I don't like Chelsea, I really felt for them when Lampard got sent off Sunday. It looked like they borrowed some refs from the league my son's high school is in. My son only got 2 yellows this year, even though he probably deserved at least 5. Thing was, the 2 he did get were on clean tackles. Same at every level I suppose.

Hmm, back when Napster was back I was into this obscure band called Incomplete that was on a split with another more popular band and wanted to see if I could find any more of their music. It was IMPOSSIBLE to find anything on them, it just kept bringing back a bunch of "Some random popular song -incomplete" files that were well... half of a song. Or Bad Religion- Incomplete- incomplete... you know, half of the song "Incomplete" by Bad Religion...
