I dunno how to quite put it, so what are your opinions on this?

words to blurry. Take out some of the streaking behind the lettering to make it clearer

I like the new banner, the text is much more interesting, and I, personally, can read it just fine; however, I like the image placement of the old banner most. So, I think the new one has more aesthetic appeal, but maybe moving the background image to where it is in the original banner would make it look even better than it does. ;)

Also i noticed that when you look at it by itself, with white background it makes it blurry but on my site its darker- When im completely done Ill post it in reviews :P

I like the one straght after my posting.

The one without the streaking is okay, however i think there should still be some streaking, that made it look good. Just don't do an overload and put tons of streaking. Just enough.

hmm ok, anyone else have any input?

I'd say you should stroke the inner text so that it's readable over the rest. That's why it's hard to read.

I'd say it looks good, and I can still easily read it... but I remember yesterday I visited your homepage and you had a logo with 3d text that looked even better- any idea what I'm talking about?

this one? (http://aw2.firewebx.com/images/home3.jpg)

Ben Rogers

Yes, that one. I think it looks the best of the 4. (Plain text, blurry text, somewhat blurry text, and metallic text).

Neczy

Yeah i like that one as well.

I'll vote for the metallic text. Can you add a shadow to it? It would make it more 3D. Also, I think overall the banner is too tall. That thing really takes up a lot of real estate on the screen.

The text is already 3d, but if you mean drop shadow, you can't have shadow on a black background... and I think the height's fine...

The First "New one" on the original post was the best.

just drop the opacity of the streaks and halo around the words and your golden.

try a layer mask and fade the edges. You just want to make sure the words are @100% and the halo should start around 75% or less and fade to 0%

You CAN have a shadow if you make it grey.

True enough, but not a very realistic one.:D

I don't know. This works for me. I just knocked this off quickly. With a little effort, it would look pretty good.

That does look good... but I more view the grey as a misty backdrop, than a shadow. It's still a nice effect.

Thanks. I'm only suggesting it to give the text some seperation from the background. I just did that quickly, but I think a more subtle shade of gray would make the text stand out nicely. Just my 2cts.

I'll second that- it sounds like it'd clear up legibility issues anyone has with the header... and provide a good look.

I believe he's removed that site and placed it elsewhere, BlackDragon.

Ah yes, i got a domain change, as well as removed the files off of the server, as I am remodeling my site and the banners dont quite fit.
