Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : My Domain Name Expired...
Yesterday, my domain name (samingle.com) expired. I'm not wondering whether I should renew it, or go for something else. What I'm kinda looking for now is suggestions as to a new domain name. I've got a few ideas, but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks. I realize that the Domain Names forum exists, but I'm pretty sure that this post fits better here. If I have misassumed, feel free to move this post.

I would say to get a new one. Having just your name is a little boring, I dont have any ideas, try and think of something interesting
yeah, I've been thinking about this for pretty much 2 days straight, and I still got nothin. Pretty much anything moderately clever has been taken (except moderatelyclever.com, which I'm kind of considering)... I'm still open to suggestions however.

What are you going to do with the site? It might make sense to decide that first, then try to come up with a name that is relevant to the site.
It will just be my personal site, a blog, scripts, photo gallery, all that jazz...

How about slamminsammy.com? It's available...
lol... two problems i see there:
Its not the 80's
I've got three close friends named Sam, I go by Sam, one goes by Sammy, the other goes by Samuel, so it would just create problems all around...
I'm seriously considering moderatelyclever.com, but I would imagine a lot of people would spell moderately wrong (I had to double check with google to make sure I had it right). Thoughts on this?

I actually considered grabbing the name when I read your first post. I like it, but you're right about people spelling it wrong. You could grab a couple of the most likely mis-spellings, too, and have them re-direct to the proper site.
And hey! What do you mean, it's not the 80's?
How about nospamsam.com, or samtheham.com? I'm starting to sound like Dr. Seuss now... Sorry.
A couple ideas (take 'em quick, 'cause they're unregistered .com names!)...

Just a few I thought of. :D

These two are awesome!
Now I have think I've narrowed it down to three (those two and moderatelyclever.com), suppose its time to take this question to the coworkers and relatives...
and by the way

this probably wouldn't work too well, could be construed as dirty... (AKA "Who's Pam?")

Thanks, Jona! Now I don't feel quite so self-conscious.

Sam has a really cool last name. :D Be creative with what you were born with, I say!
yeah, I was thinking single.com (first initial, last name)... I was shocked when it was already registered

See, that's what makes it funny! It could be you eating spam or Pam...

I thought of the same thing, but I knew it'd be taken. It's cool, though, you should make it your email address... single@minglewithingle.com! LOL! What a tongue-twister!
WOW, that is awesome... so cool in fact, that I just used the capslock key for the first time since I've owned this computer... That email address may have been the deciding factor...
Yeah if you want to use Ingle Bells, make it a subdirectory:
http://www.minglewithingle.com/inglebells/
And use that as, I dunno, a Christmas-area! :p
perhaps that could be my scripts section?

If your still open for suggestions one that just came to my small brain was www.semanticsam.com.
Also i thought it was bad to openly write a domain name that hasnt been taken in an open forum cuz spammers register them or something.

Yes, I thought the same thing; but hopefully we're fairly safe here, for now...
Quick, Sam! Register the domain!

Good idea Aronya1.
Although it might put people off seen as the definition of shingles is.
An acute viral infection characterized by inflammation of the sensory ganglia of certain spinal or cranial nerves and the eruption of vesicles along the affected nerve path. It usually strikes only one side of the body and is often accompanied by severe neuralgia. Also called herpes zoster.
:D
Best Wishes,
David
