Im building a web page, and i created the graphix in illustrator.
basically, the background of my site is specifically:
d9d3c5 (217, 211, 197).

When i create a .jpg or gif of my illustrator file, the color varies just slightly, causing the image to look different, or not a part of the background.

Im wondering if this is a compression issue. i have some jpgs both at 72ppi, but the color is different! this is quite aggrivating, so if anyone has any answers, it would be greatly appreciated. i dont want to rebuild the whole site!

I don't use Illustrator, but make sure you are in RGB mode, not CMKY

ok, after much grief, i figgured it out. i think. if anyone runs into this problem look at the following:
make sure go-live isn't limited to web colors in the color palette. This enables you to put in a more specific color (like my d9, d3, c5). Then check your illustrator file to make sure these exact values are the same.
Finally, if you save for web in illustrator instead of using go-live's smart objects, make sure you save jpg's using progressive compression option. For some reason this tends to make the difference between a regular .jpg and a .jpg with progressive checked.
For some reason this dosent work the same way even if you use a smart object in go-live. anyway, i fixed it . it sucks and hope no one else has the same problem.
