Convert NTFS in XP Pro

Please help.
When I convert to Ntfs ad the end it breaks off.
I can't enter the partion anymore.
I must format then to fat32 to enter the partion.
Why can't I convert to NTFS
Please anybody HELP.

I'm using Windows XP Proffesional

Are you using the XP NTFS format option at startup?

If you're having problems you may need to try other software. How many drives and partitions?

I tried it with Partion Magic 7 and 8 no good it say,s it's NTFS but if I look under XP pro I can't acces and proporties say' filesystem RAW.
I have 2 disk
first one c,d,e,f,g
second one i,j,k,l
I've tried it on J ( 10 gig )
and on I 8 gig.

Ah! May be a stupid question but have you re-booted?

Yes,I did and Partion Magic sees it as NTSF and XP pro sees it as RAW.

Is there a format facility in XP Pro?
If not, have you tried booting the machine with the CD in and letting XP format the drive as NTFS?

I've also Formatted in XP pro itself to NTFS but no good.
But I could try it with the CD of XP.

How did you get on?

I,ve made a ms-dos diskette with format on it.
But then noting happens.
I,ve looked for the CD but still didn't find it.
Also until now no luck.
