What do you mean by blocked? tomhartland 06-02-2004, 03:23 AM Permissions around cookies (in Internet Explorer at least) behave differently in the Local Intranet Zone compared to the Internet Zone. In the Internet Zone, cookie permissions are based on the Privacy settings in the options - where as in the Local Intranet Zone all cookies are allowed. Apologies if I have got the wrong end of the stick - as Andrew pointed out, you're not being the clearest with your question. Justin 06-02-2004, 04:04 PM But how do you get the Privicy statements to allow the cookies, like a forum on my site, pricicy settings allow its cookies, how do you get your sites cookies to be allowd (I know that not all computers accecpt cookies, and some have very high restrictions), but i think it would be nice for the site to rember your name for a chat script i have! tomhartland 06-03-2004, 02:48 AM Originally posted by Justin ...how do you get your sites cookies to be allowd... If it was possible to change the privacy settings of the client browser, there would be no point in having those settings in the first place. If your user decides they do not want to store cookies (I don't know any figures, but I know there is quite a percentage of people do not want to) there is nothing you can do about it. Your only obvious option is to politely point out that unless they turn cookies on, they are not going to see the full set of benefits from your site. (You could also travel to each of your users computers and change the settings yourself - my previous suggestion is probably easier though. ;)) Justin 06-03-2004, 02:37 PM .. webdeveloper.com
