Hello...............

My site has been constructed with Front Page.....I use (image) buttons (in a shared border) with links to major site areas.

This really looks "old fashioned" (although it didn't a few years ago)................especially when I compare it with the nice looking drop down cascading menus (that also can change colors, and/or display different info) when the mouse rolls over the link, that seem to be everywhere.

Can anyone suggest some reasonably easy to use software that will allow me to do these things, plus be compatible with FP and all the different browsers out there?

Thanks!

Theres a few options, including Selteco's Menu Maker, which cna be found at the following web page: http://www.selteco.com/menumaker/

Though, you will most likely need to gain some basic knowledge of how DHTML works before you can take full advantage of any DHTML code generators, etc.

www.w3schools.com offer a good tutorial.

The best way to get the desired menu you want would be to code it yourself as even the major web dev packages such as dreamweaver produce invalid code etc.

You say that you want the menu to work on all the different browsers out there. Arnt you using frontpage i would test to see what your site looks like in other browsers if i were you as frontpage usually produces invalid and sometimes propeity code. Unless you used code view and coded it ureself.

There are lots of sites out there that just let you copy and paste the code for the drop down menu you want and all you have to do is change the colour. Search for drop down menu and suckerfish dropdowns the latter will need abit of tweaking.

Copy and paste one of the free menu scripts from Dynamic Drive:
