Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie of a web designer and agreed to edit a website for a friend of a friend.
I have one little problem with the website though.
The guy I'm doing the website for wants a conveyor belt slideshow that "must" have back and forward keys to scroll back n forth through it.
I tried to edit a slideshow I found at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/leftrightslide.htm , but to be honest I can not figure out how to edit/add back forward controls.

:-(

I have looked at other sites, but can't find the right code to help me do it.

The slideshow should like this one on Adobe's portfolio site: http://eportfolio.studio.adobe.com/user/saramoseley/12596

If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. The guy whose site Im working on has turned out to be a real nutty violent guy and has made threats against my friend if I dont make his site look perfect. Ack.

Thanks,
Becky W.

Hi there Khalid,

Thanks very much for posting that link.
Unfortunately I tried to edit the code and then upload it but am having trouble viewing it.
What directory should I load the slideshow.js and javascripts files in ? cgi-bin ?

argh, I feel like a failure -

at the top/root level will be the SlideShow.html
--+images/slideshow/all the images should be at this level
--+scripts/the javascript file should be here

cheers

Khalid

I know I'm coming into this late, but I was having problems with the conveyor belt script too, and searching for help led me here.

I was wondering if I could use your slideshow script, Khalid. It's very clean, it gives users control over their browsing pace, yet it can show several thumbnails at once--exactly what I was looking for.

If it's OK with you to use it, where can I get the .js files needed to run the script?

Thanks very much.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread--still hoping Khalid will see it. I tried emailing him, but he's got his preferences set for no email from the board.

His profile says his last post was in June. Are you sure he's still around?

Yes, he is still around, He switched his username to Khalid Ali (http://forums.webdeveloper.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=7261), though.

Anyway, the JavaScript file can be found at http://68.145.35.86/skills/javascripts/scripts/slideshow.js
