page Size too much

hi all
i made a page in which i added some graphics and some
javascipts into it.Page is fine,but one thing which os
worrying me is the size ,Dreamweaver shows it
144/21s at 56KBps.
How can i reduce the size, don't you think this
is a big size for good home page.
or i should keep it as such?

Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed.

You could use an image optimizer.

Can you give us a link to the page in question.

What are you using to layout the page tables or css as css dramatically decreases the size of the page

I have not uploaded the page on any server.
