Hi there, I am having some difficulty creating clear, crisp text images for the web. Some of my text has a fuzzy appearance when I add filters. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find out about the best way to save gifs in photoshop to prevent that. Is it better to create the text images at a higher resolution and then reduce them to 72 dpi?
Thanks!

What method are you using now? Have you tried your own suggestion? When you "Save for Web", what settings are you using?

Your fuzzy text issue can be addressed by using your Anti-Aliasing options.

It can be found at the bottom right hand corner of the Character Pallet. To access this pallet choose Window > Character.

Hope this helps.

By the way, anytime your saving images for the web here is a good rule of thumb; graphics containing photographs should be saved as jpg, everything else -- gif. This rule provides optimum file sizes and the best quality. For jpg's try to keep that quality slider in Photoshop as low as possible. Slide it to the left until you can't stand the degradation any further. Same thing with gif's. Keep the number of colors as low as possible. Your choice of colors will depend on the graphic. Mind you, this is just for the web!
