Hi I'm wodering if anyone can reccommend any software or methods for developing an online shop?

We're looking at actinic at the moment, but my boss isn't happy about the liscensing structure, and I'm worried at how flexible (or not) the templates are

any ideas or suggestions, I've looked at oscommerce too, got it working, installed extra files for editing templates, then it would work :( anyone used this before?

Cheers Neil

You could go with paypal if you wanted. Check out their site. http://www.paypal.com

Yes you are going to need to do the card and all server side. But if you are not pretty darned good with a server side language I also suggest pay pal, because those credit cards need to be moved securely. But no all people have pay pal and want to use it to buy stuff, so it could hurt your sales.

the site is for a client, we cant really do them a site with paypal, as you say they might lose custom.

no, paypal is actually more useful, because they will accept payments even from people who do not have a paypal account. There are two ways to pay: either you do it through your paypal account, or you can just pay through your credit card normally. It actually gives more options to the customer. PS. i don't work for paypal, i am just using them for my own computer site.
