Hi,

I have a cunning plan. We have run the website www.sportspubs.co.uk for the past three years. We now want to push the idea forward and build it into something much bigger.

This year offers a lot of potentil. Between September 2003 and September 2004 there are some amazingly large sporting events - Rugby World Cup, Euro 2004 , Olympic Games and the Ryder Cup (in addition to the masses of sports already on te calendar).

As such, we have thought up some quite cool ideas for promoting drinks brands using Sports Pubs as the basis. These include location based services, loyalty schemes, etc. We are now at the point where we need someone to build a dummy site that looks very pretty and possibly includes some flash in order to push the idea to the breweries. I think it would be something in the region of 1-2 days work. The problem is that we don't have the skill sets to build this site, and having spent the past year trying to develop the idea, don't have any money either. We do not need to build a functional website - it would simply be a prototype that would look pretty.

As such, we are looking for a designer with good graphical skills to take a punt and help build something where we can pay them when we get sponsorship. This may also lead onto much more work with the major redevelopment of the site that will be required once sponsorship comes in.

I realise that this is taking the p*** somewhat and that people will be very cynical about this - but at the very least, let me give more detail on what I am thinking and see whether you think ti woudl work.

Check out our site at www.sportspubs.co.uk and, if you like it, email me at rob@sportspubs.co.uk.

Cheers,

Rob

I think people are wondering why not do it yourself i mean it doesn't cost nothing to start a example Flash site

Hiya,

technical abilities. One of the people involved with the site has been using resources from the company he works for to develop parts of the IT structure in their spare time.

This is all based on good-will. I.e. people help out on the basis that there will be pay-back if things ramp up. Recently they have been redeveloping the back end of the site so that we can select pubs by specific sport - e.g. cricket, rugby league, etc.

They have done a really good job BUT, I think that I have used up a lot of good will in getting this done. As such I cannot really push much more to do other things.

The problem with this is timing. The media agencies are now concluding what they are going to spend during the Rugby World Cup in November - therefore, I cannot really wait for another 1-2 months before approaching them.

The problem is that I focus on the business side - and so don't have technical skills. (The truth is that I also don't know how much flash they do anyway).

That is why I thought of doing this.

Thanks,

Rob
