Many thanks total-ibiza (http://www.total-ibiza.com) sharkey 07-13-2004, 06:50 AM The design is a bit basic maybe use a nic graphical banner at the top. Daria 07-13-2004, 01:02 PM Do not forget to accomodate for different screen resolution. Personally I do not recommend anything scrolling. If you are offering an advertizement space, do not offer it on the bottom of the page. Do not use button-looking things for the page headers, such as on http://www.total-ibiza.com/resort_level/santa_eularia/santa_eularia.shtml - it is tempting to click on the "button". I would also change the blue gradient background on the top to something else. Even something like blue skies or happy facees or some abstract graphic will do. Maybe plain color background with an enhanced logo (you should have one done, too...) will cut it as well. Some pages do not need individual pop-up windows. Weather Center or Resort Ratings would do just fine if they opened as a part of the website (with the menu, of course). What do you have in mind for a makeover? jazz123 07-13-2004, 02:03 PM Thanks for the comments. Basically this was the first site I did a couple of years ago, and felt it was time to tidy some stuff up. I had already identified some items, such as making all menus consistent across the site, and just making things a touch more interesting! However, want to keep it as simple as possible. Keep the comments coming. Cheers LJK 07-17-2004, 02:09 PM Hi - If you want to go 'minimal', at least put more effort into the design aspects. What could you do with typefaces, images instead of text, and a specific color scheme to make it *individualized*? Currently, you've made an exotic location seem really quite drab. The scrolling text overlaps the bottom text on the index page, and nothing happened when I hovered over beach locations. It'd be more interesting to get some photos of the beaches and link to them - as you've used the exact same image as the index pg. The header gradient, boring light blue boxes, and the font make it also very 'dated', like from '94 or something. On a more positive note: thanks for using css instead of relying on tables. Brush-up on some more creative uses of css and make this site as lovely as you possibly can. Good luck, El the tree 07-17-2004, 02:43 PM This site is best viewed in 800 x 600 using Microsoft ® Internet Explorer 5.5 or later. ROFL are you kidding? There is no way that could be possible. Anyway, your site doesn't validate (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.total-ibiza.com%2F) atm that's something that you ought to look at. jazz123 07-19-2004, 03:23 AM Thanks for the constructive comments. All taken on board and being incorporated in the new design. Thanks again webdeveloper.com
