A friend of mine wants to make a website similar to http://www.facebattle.com/

How difficult do you think it would be to design a site of this magnitude, or, do you think it would extremely expensive to have a similar site like this made?

Im not sure his price range etc, but just looking at that how expensive do you think it would be?

I think you can buy software like that... Since there was all the popularity of the 'Are you hot or not' type sites.

Overall the biggest cost I would think would be the data and hardware. Surely you could not run this type of site on a shared or virtual host.

The rest of it wouldnt be impossible with the help of a good DB person.
