Tell me what you think. It's valid XHTML 1.0 Strict. Link is in sig. It expands to fill 80% of the browser width, and can be shrunk down below 640 x 480 without breaking. I've also included a font size changer at top right.

All I can really say is WOW! That is a very nice site. I just answered like 5 posts in this forum and this is the first of which that was a non-table, compliant design. I think you did a wonderful job. It's very original. It's not like any other site I've seen lately. The graphics are nice. Great job! ;)

Very nice! Valid, semantic, table-less code! I like the 3D feel to the site, and it's all nice - except the background. Backgrounds can really make, or in this case break, a website. It really bothers me... to busy? Or maybe its the different colors? It draws the eye way to much, maybe you'd be better off with solid color, or a very unnoticable pattern, but the background really doesn't do it for me. But otherwise, it looks good.

Personally I like the background. :) But everybody has their own opinion.

It all comes down to what you like in the end Tom, considering it's your site. ;)

Thanks for the compliments. I was considering minor changes to the background image, just a slight blur and maybe drop opacity a hair. I really like the image, but I agree it could be considered distracting.

Looks great! My only critisism would be that it is a bit too busy for my liking...

I agree with everyone else about the background being a little off (the yellow kind of reminds me of vomit... hehe). I think dropping the opacity a bit would help.

Also, the purple gradient at the top doesn't really seem to match the rest of the colors, as well as the background for the navigation. I'm not sure what I'd change it to, but it looks a bit off to me for some reason.

All-in-all: very nice job! Another design in our CSS-is-better arsenal. :D

***EDIT***
Oh, and when I resize the text, everything drops away from the header, creating a gap.

Thanks for the reviews and recommendations all. I've blurred the yellow part of the background and reduced the opacity of it a bit.

I also partially fixed the header bug when you increase text size that Paul described. The nav and contents section no longer moves down when you increase text size, though if you increase it really large, the words "Text Size" on the right drops down a line and moves to the right where it's not really legible. I'll probably leave this as is, because you have to make the text ridiculously large to create that bug.

I've also changed the color in the gradient bar right below the header to match other colors on the site better, but I'm not real happy with the result. I'll play with that some more.

Your header image is AWESOME i love it.

Other then that..It all looks good, except for that nav background. Maybe tone it down? seems busy still.

The main part where the site is mostly at looks fine to me, but the becakgrounf beinh it, just seems really out of place.
