What is the character code for the right arrow ?

Does anybody know the character code for the right arrow (-->, but continuos and only one character) sybmol? I thought it was something like &arro;, but that does not work. I found it by accident one day, so if anyone knows a site that lists all of these codes that I could look at, that would be good as well.
