Hi....I am new & I need your help.I have been working as a web designer from past 3yrs but never had deal with any clients for requirements. Now, I am planing to start my own web designing business.My question is what i must ask the client(question regarding his preferences)so that i'll be able to create a good impression on him??

Sigh.. that is a tough one and can really vary.

You should look into: Needs & Assessments.
I remember taking it in school and it focuses on planning group projects and the tasks needed to get prepared for a project of any magnitute.

I can only list of a couple of pointers to get you into the right direction and we seem to be in the same boat. Just openend my own web business recently.

Main focus point: PLANNING

Budget
Timeline
Key players (SME's)
Customer goals
Is the business close of achieving these goals?
Target audience
Analysis of the problem
Research of the practices and company
Find possible solutions
Give the company and overview of what you have found (ways to improve)
Build a prototype (if applicable)
After approval (hopefull after all the work) Implementing

Ask them if they have some sites they might like to emulate.

Tell them there are many ways to develop a web prescience but in the end you still end up with a website. The trick is find the best solution for them.
