i am kinda new to web page building, and i have a very nice site that i built myself, it is a clan site and i want to make it so that the members have to register to my site, then they have put check off some boxes. i was wondering if someone nice enough could build this coding for me. i want on section to be titled combat consisting of check boxes labeled:melee. one labeled ranged, and onother one labeled, magic. then i want their name to be added to a page called members under what they are. either melee, ranged, or magic. and a box to type there level which will be shown next to their name. if someone could please give me this coding i will be so greatful. by the way, i bought about 10 html boox and none of them tell me how to do this. thanks for your time.

Does your hosting service provide support for PHP and MySQL? If so, try book 11, PHP & MySQL for Dummies (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764516507/qid=1097181855/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_2_1/103-6864425-1549457). Seriously: it's probably the cheapest book that can get you up and running on this.

I don't think anyone can do anything for you unless you give them a level of access to your hosting that you should never give to any stranger. The reason none of your html books tell you how to do what you want is because html can't do it. Here's why. (http://www.vagusnet.com/ste/intro.html)

Just get yer self to www.php.net or www.zend.com and get learning. You'll be glad you did, trust me.

I agree. Also, please don't ask others to do your work for you, unless they volunteer, or you're paying them. Especially for a clan site.

Anyways, have you learned the basics of (X)HTML and CSS, yet? I would reccomend W3Schools (http://www.w3schools.com/) to any & all beginners. Also, it may be a little more user friendly in helping you grasp the fundamentals of PHP syntax and the likes of it.

Anyways, if you are this new, you may be getting in over your head. A project such as this shouldn't be attempted when you're still learning (X)HTML.
