Hi,
I am just looking for opinions on the best software to use to build Java 2 Web applications. I am looking to build Applets, Servlet applications, and wireless applications and don't know if i would be better of getting Borland Jbuilder 8 or Sun TM One Application or even try use Dreamweaver MX for JSP pages. Any help on this would be great, thx.

My favorite Java Developer is Sun's free SDK. It is command line but for some reason it is my favorite. You can get it from:

Yeah I have played with Sun One IDE as well,,but being honest with you since I have already been using JBuilder and was comfortable with all the ins and outs I found Javas IDE rather complex..but thats just me..

I use Sun ONE in my day job, and it's OK. It has some quirks, the ones that bug us are mostly to to do with CVS integration (which shoudn't be a problem for a hobbyist)
It is, however, a serious memory hog - you'll need at least 512MB of RAM in w indows workstation to use it comfortably. (yeah, most IDEs need loadsa RAM, I know)
