I'm trying to start a small portal aimed to business website owners.
I try to keep it simple and minimal. Integration of ads it's an essential part of my design goals.
Do you think site has a chance? capmex.biz (http://www.capmex.biz)

Uhm, the short answer: No. Not yet, anyways. The layout isn't very practical or attractive, I'm sorry to say. The header (which badly needs smoothing) draws my eyes to the right of the page, which is empty. Finally, my eyes fall on the most emphasized text- the list of links. The navigation is missed entirely. Finally, I skim the list, and see the end of the footer, and no more content. Dark on dark is ignored- it's the footer, the legal text, the stuff you don't need to read. The ads don't really stand out.
I'd suggest having the ads on the right, underneath the header- this makes them very noticeable, and seem part of your site. It is a very simple and clean layout... just doesn't seem thought out. I like the fluidity, by the way- it looks nice.
Hi -
I think this design has a lot of possibilites.
[Thanks for going xhtml strict and using a CSS-based
layout instead of tables - good to see!]
I'd agree with the prior post that your links
are not so easy to see - and would add that the
header may be a bit too tall - the content a bit
too thin. It seems you've increased the line-height
to make up for it, but content would be better!
The ads are subtle - thanks.
Keep tweaking; looks good.
