Does it work if you just right click on the file and rename it by removing the .vbs????

Are you sure you don't have a virus on you system, like VBS.NewLove.A because the *.vbs is a Visual Basic Program extension and unless you use Micro$oft Visual Basic 6.0 to write progams on your machine it's highly likely if you get standard files ending in *.vbs (the ones you save that is) you have been infected.

http://www.csus.edu/uccs/alerts/archived/love.htm You're right rob - this link mentions two files the virus adapts - mp3 and jpg.

http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/fix.vbs.loveletter.html appears to offer a fix. But it also says you need to get Norton Antivirus...

Most antivirus software seems to protect against this now, including http://www.mcafee.com/ .

*.vbs is a VBScript external extension.

To get rid of your virus I would recommend doing a google search to find information about it. Then, if you don't get any info, go ahead and search for the virus with the Find Files or Folders. When you are sure that what you have found is the virus, delete it. (You might want to make a backup copy with a different extension just in case what you delete isn't really the virus.) I hope your computer is ok.
