...Or I’m just incredibly lucky. I could be dead right now.

At somewhere around 7 P.M. tonight, I was involved in my first automobile accident, which resulted in the car being damaged beyond repair (I don’t know for sure, but it looked that way) — in other words, the car is totalled.

We (mother and I) were coming home from Wal-Mart. The 40 MPH zone had just ended and I had accelerated to approximately 55 MPH. I was driving East on Route 7. Up ahead there was an intersection where Route 30A crossed Route 7 going North/South. I slowed down slightly (a tad below 50, if I rememeber correctly) as I approached the intersection; there were several cars on 30A and coming the other way that were waiting. Suddenly, as I was nearing the middle of the intersection, a white four-door (I forget the manufacturer) blew the stopsign going South on 30A. I nailed the breaks and swerved to the right — I ended up facing North on the wrong side of the road on 30A, North of Route 7. The front end of the car is completely mangled. The other car ended up on the West side (the correct side of the road) of 30A, North of Route 7, a bit further up from where our car was stopped.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but I was quite angry. As it turns out, some girl — could not have been, at the most, older than 18 — named Jessica Ruthers ignored the stopsign completely and “didn’t see” me. As a result, the Ford Focus (our car) was, in my opinion, completely totalled, and anyone of us could have been killed.

That had to have been the most interesting — for lack of a better word — experience of my life. I just figured I’d share this… for no apparent reason…

Whoah, you're all right? There's nothing like the sound of crunching metal to make your heart skip a beat. I really don't trust our forum members on the road. You seem to have an affinity for totaling cars. :p Aye, but seriously, you're lucky you came out unscathed. Highspeed collisions like that don't normally turn out that (relatively) well.

Aye, Conor, always focusing in on the important things, eh? That'd be an interesting pick up line. "Hey, you just totaled my car and almost kill me. That's hot. So, uh, can I get your number?"

Bob, it just means Conor has got the balls. :D :D :D

Anyway, that sucks, Paul, but it's what happens when you drive a Ford Focus. Those have got to be the stupidest, cheapest cars Ford ever made. I was in California a while ago in one of those things (a rental), and the linkage between one of the tubes was messed up or something, so there was absolutely no tension on the gas pedal! We were in the middle of the freeway, too.

But, answer Conor's question. Was she hott? Did you get her number? :D

Yes, it sucks very much.

We probably could. She clearly blew the stopsign, and thankfully several witnesses were present who can testify to that.

…She almost killed me, my mother, herself, the people in her car, and possibly the other people sitting in their cars. So no, she was not hott. She was actually too skinny. Looked anorexic or something. Nasty.

Fortunately, yes.

Hey! How can you say that?! It’s my first one! It wasn’t even my fault either!

I know. It could have been much, much worse.

lol. Well, the paramedics wrote down everyone’s information, so I could have just nabbed it anyways. ;) I know who she is, though, and if I ever see her again… God help me, I’ll beat the living **** out of her.

The brand of car had nothing to do with it. I was going roughly 50 MPH through an intersection, when someone who was not paying attention ran a stopsign just as I was entering the intersection. There was nothing I could have done other than what I did.

She was too skinny, and she almost killed me (along with my mother and several other people), so no, she was not hott.

Stop begining your sentences with conjunctions, anyways. Sheesh.

I bent the frame, the fender was collapsed around the wheel, the door did not open. It was a mess.

i once totalled a guys push bike. he was most annoyed. he slipped on a rotten leaf and steered right into my badly positioned hedge. unfortunatley the hedge is a cover up for a wired fence. the guy tried pulling his bent handlebars out and it pulled them of in the proccess pulling his chain off. it was the funniest thing i'd ever seen. funny, the guy didn't see it like that.

i asked him his insurance number and reg. number so i could get them to pay for my grazed hedge!
