Hello to all members

I am a novice at web design and I need the advice of people who know more than me (which is probably all of you).

I co-author personal life journals with my wife and was toying with the idea of placing a web version up there for people to be able to access and type in their details and data on the pages, then be able to print out their story or download it to their harddrive.

Can anyone please start me in the right direction on how I can achieve this. I want to do this myself so I understand the process.

Thanks for your assistance

You mean like a blog (http://www.blogger.com/)?

Yup. Sounds exactly like a blog to me.

You'll need at least html 4 transitional and php. However I'd recomend the use of html, css, php and a database (probably MySQL). You'll also need to check with your host to make sure they support these.

If you're not interested in learning all these languages of the Web, I would try visiting the link I gave above. They offer free blogs pre-made with pre-made styles (or you can create your own). This means you'll only need to know HTML and CSS to design the blog, and everything else will be done for you. www.blogger.com is the address.

Uh huh. Unless you got a lot of free time and making websites is something you're thinking about getting serious about; I'd go with Jonas' suggestion.

Thanks to those who posted your reply to my question.

Well it isn't really a blog, but then I have little experience with those only seeing a few in my ramblings on the net.

Is it possible in a blog for people to write in boxes answering questions as they go, saving those and moving onto another set, and finally after completing all the tasks, being able to print it out like a book?

That is what I am aiming for.

Thanks a heap for your help
