Can you cool guys* review this site for me please:
http://evernet.co.uk/halo/
(Yes, I took him up on his offer. :D (If you don't understand that, don't worry.))

I already know that the code isn't valid, but I'll fix it some other time. Too tired at the moment.

I can't believe you did...

Anyway, the vertical navigation text is a bit difficult to read. In fact, it took me a few seconds to even realize it was there! It's pretty creative, not too bad, though.

I needed a site like this for my portfolio, and I like designing, so it wasn't a problem.

I haven't had any other complaints about the navigation, and I've surveyed quite a few people, so what does everyone else think?

Mother UK-ers. :p Just playin'. ;) I just have a hard time reading it the way it is. Maybe put an outline around the text or something...

As comments go, that one was less than helpful. Perhaps some sort of explanation?

hmmm, maybe u could have the page bottom/top corners more styled, or is it just a review for the menu?
it also took me a few seconds to realise that it was the menu, but its cool.

I'm going to 'cut out' the bottom left corner of the main box, but I haven't got that far yet. Also, there's now a vertical menu too because he wanted more links than fit in the header, so that should make it a little easier to uue.

Well, first of all, I must say your colours are inconsistent. You have a main black background, that horrid content background (gray is aevil in bg's), then the cleanroom, white and black tekkie look for the content, topped off by the multicolour 3d flash with the poorly positioned navigation. I guess it just seems like so much was spent on the header that you neglected the rest of the page.

All right, enough with teh design. Your coding... why is there an <img (http://www.evernet.co.uk/halo/images/lc.gif) /> for the design? Should be in a background. Second, flash is so... ew. Not a fan of it, except for the ultra niftosity flash sites (a la NG, MiniClip, ABS...). However, it is valid. Next, what is with the JS? What is the purpose of hideall, to hide the links from flash enabled browsers? Also, what is with the <br/>s? Please tell me you're going to be more semantic when it ain't filler...

i like it. why you ask? because its different. ive never seen that vertical alignment with links before:)..nothing wrong with the colors. not done yet, needs some work, like youve said, but it will prolly look fine when its finished. if there is one thing i dont like, its prolly ur nav with the little "explorer" type menu, im not a big fan of those:p..anyways, looks fine to me:) it's different, thats why..

1) The image: You can't knock out a corner with backgrounds. I want it to be totally elastic, so this is the only way.

2) Hideall hides the subsections of the menu on page load, so that browsers without JS get the menu in full. More accessible.

3) I'm not actually planning to make a site with 10 pages of 'content content content content'!

It's not totally elastic. Totally elastic would mean there are no pixel-widths -- they must all be in EM's. An elastic layout resizes with the content.
