Hey folks! Gots a question: what can/should I change about this site? (How cross-browser compatible is it?) Stuff like that.
SofraPack (http://www.geocities.com/brickwallfish/DEMO/SP-English.html)
(Don't mind the banner of GeoCit. The server of Sofra Pack is temporarely down :( )
It's a site for a company that wraps delicaties, but mainly olives. Besides it beings their first site, it's my first css based site and my first attempt at making one cross-browser.
Note: the links don't go anywhere, and Dry Products doesn't have an image yet. And I still need to do it all in German. (So it's not really finished YET)
AND YES, I'M USING BMP'S!!!
And no, I'm not easaly offended ;)

Assuming the final version changes to jpgs to reduce download time, it looks quite nice. Perhaps the background colour outside the main content area should be a slightly different shade to help draw the users' eyes into the main content area. I missed the link at the bottom to the webmaster, it wasn't obvious at a casual glance. Not 100% sure about the flickering images as the menu is mousedover, might be a bit too distracting - perhaps no images for the submenus, as you obviously want to use this effect, but I say don't overdo it. Fits nicely into 800px width.
Everybody's a critic... yeh it's so much easier than building a new site yourself, or improving an existing one yourself :D

Well, the main issue... why are you using frames, and upon loading why am I presented with a blank content area?

Well, I don't see the problem with frames.... Is there any reason why not to use them? If so, do tell!
Also, I thought I made it quite clear that it's not finished YET. I just wanted to make sure the layout and compatability would be ok, as I would add actual content later on. Sorry if this wasn't pointed out the right way.
But other than that, I still need some info about the compatability thing. Anybody seen some problems?

The main problem with frames is that search engines don't easily index your page. There's also the problem of a search engine finding a content page that is supposed to sit within the whole site.
Using server side includes means you can standardise your menus, while using a div with scroll set to auto will give the effect of a frame (if that's what you want).
It's a nice design although I'm not sure about all the things happening at the menu. For you drop-down menus, separate them from the lower menu buttons. It feels a bit cramped and hard to press the right link.
Those black lines need to be smoothed, maybe made a little greyer.
Nice work though.
