i have seen a web site that sells a .pdf file. the .pdf files are uniquely password protected for each purchaser. after the purchaser submits their credit card info, a web page comes up with a link to download the .pdf file and their unique password for that .pdf file is displayed.
how is this done? i'm considering selling information myself and would like to password protect the .pdf files like that. do certain credit card processing services do that? do i need a special cgi script or something? i noticed my web hosting company supports "Miva Merchant"..can they do that? I'm looking for someone to explain how this process is done so i can get going in the right direction.
