I've recently given RedHat 8.0 a try again, and I'm quite fond of it. And I'm just wondering if anyone that uses Linux would like to answer these questions for me:
Which distro do you use?
Which editor(s) do you like?
Which browser(s) do you use?

I dont use linux a lot. When I do, my preferred editor is Emacs and browser Mozilla.
Whats a distro?

Distro means distribution (at least I think it does), like RedHat, SuSE, Mandrake etc.
Emacs just confused me. I was to stupid to even figure out how to open a file! :p

I use www.Gentoo.org
A really greate dist for people that want to learn how to use a high performance linux dist but don't want to do everything manually.
It does this by combining automated package managing software (like eg Rhat and Debian has) and compiling everything from source.
It basicly gives you "linux from scratch" power with the ease of use of a beginner dist like Redhat.
For editor I use nano (very plain and simple editor that works nicely)
For browser Lynx (I mostly have linux in command line server enviroments).
For GUI I would probably go with Phoenix (Mozilla standalone browser)

Personally
Redhat 7.2
Nedit ( http://www.nedit.org ) - has some nice syntax highlighting options, endless shortcuts (e.g. shift y to open hightlighted filename)
Opera 6 ( http://www.opera.com ) - Opening multiple windows within the same interface has made this one of my favourite web browsers.
Opera also disables right mouse click anoyances for those of you who like to navigate with the right mouse button. Another cool funtion is mouse jestures. e.g. if you hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse down and to the right (as a right angle) the active window will close.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've recently heard of Gentoo on another forum. Sounds like a great idea having the OS compiled for your system. I tried Mandrake before which was pretty good, but the fonts in RedHat seem to be better than most Linux distros.
I'm hoping we won't have to wait too long for Opera 7 to come out on Linux, it's a big improvement over v6 in my opinion. Konquerer seems a lot better with v3 of KDE. The version I tried before seemed a bit rubbish as it was loading the alternate style sheets as well as my default one, and so messed up the layout. But it seems to have been fixed. Plus it has mng support which is great!

I assume you mean antialized fonts?
Those are available in other dists too, especially a dist like Gentoo which compiles from source (allowing you a very easy way of always keeping up to date with the latest patches almost automatically).
Here is a nice thread from the gentoo forums about differences between Gentoo and RH asked by a person pretty much in your situation.

Yeah that's right. It's just I'm sure when I turned them on in Mandrake they didn't look much better. I've found most fonts in other Linux dirtos to look a bit dodgy. Thanks for the link though I'll take a little read.
