Yahoo RSS feed slows the loading of entire page

hi,

i have put a yahoo news headlines RSS feed on my web page. it's at the bottom, but even the top of my page loads slow sometimes while the RSS feed is loading.

can i somehow force the rest of my page to load, even if the RSS feed comes in slower?

That depends on how you are including the RSS feed. Is it by way of a Java applet, JavaScript, PHP, how? A link to your site would help.
