Has anyone ever had a process running called rundll32? I just noticed it like a day ago. I've never seen it before.

I've always seen that on Windows. I believe it is something that has to run for Windows to work. I could be wrong though...

Rundll32.exe is a utility that has come with the windows OS since Win95. Basically, it allows a program to call specific functions inside of windows DLLs. It also allows launching of control panel applets programmatically.

Here's a very old KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q164787&

Anyway, don't delete it, but feel free to kill the process if it's bugging ya.

Oh, and heres another KB: //support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?Catalog=LCID%3D1033%26CDID%3DEN-US-KB%26PRODLISTSRC%3DON&Product=&KeywordType=ALL&Titles=false&numDays=&maxResults=25&Queryl=RUNDLL32.EXE&Query=RUNDLL32.EXE&QuerySource=gsfxSearch_Query&srchExtraQry=
EDIT: the url above keeps getting truncated. If it actually shows up this time, add an http to it!

Windows users may get a 'rundll32' error message and a certain driver may fail. The only way usually out of this problem is to re-install the operating system.

Best Wishes,
