I am trying to build a web-based document management system. The files are named in varies different encodings (for e.g., Big5, GB, Korean, Japanese, UTF8...etc) on the server (win2000). It is ok to display the list of files in a web page using ASP, but I just can't make it work to allow the user to download the file.

Is there some articles which can teach how to do the job? Or is there any existing tools/programs which can do the job?

I thought it is for file downloading (server -> browser) only.

Actually I want to know about the possibilities rather than the implementation about the problem first - Has anyone tried or know how to handle filenames which are in different asian encodings, all listed in a web page and allow the user to download?

I tried some web-based file management asp softwares but they just don't seem to work when there are filenames which is not in english.

Any idea?
