Hmm... I've never heard of that before. It doesn't sound like a problem with the actual links though. It sounds like it could either be a virus of some sort(don't know why someone would make a virus that disabled links) or perhaps a problem with your ISP or Internet connection. It's kinda hard to tell since I've never experienced this myself but it could be one or more of the things I mentioned...

Also you might try getting a real browser (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/). That won't solve your problem with Outlook or Hotmail but it just might solve the problem with IE.

Hope I provided something useful. :)

Go to http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html and download it. Put it in a permenant directory (not a temp folder). Next run the program. Click the scan button in the bottom left. DON'T fix anything, as it's a snapshot of your computer startup processes etc. The scan button changes to a 'save log' button. Click it, then copy and paste the contents of the file it creates into this thread.

Hopefully by examining the log file we will be able to find out if you have any bho's, viruses, trojans or hijackers that are causing your problems.

ok you have a few nasties in there, so lets see what we can clean automatically.

Download ad-aware from www.lavasoft.de (free version). Update it, then do a complete scan. That should take care of some of them.
Reboot and post a new log.

edit: here's the majorgeeks download link if you prefer: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

just spotted a worm in there too.
Download sysclean from http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp
and the latest windows pattern file from http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp

put them both into the same folder, unzip the pattern file, then run sysclean. You might want to have a cup of tea while you wait, since it's going to take a while!

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [svqcuzcekqv] C:\WINDOWS\system32\iojoyo.exe is probably not one of your valid programms either.
You could rename it, or move it to quarantine, and see if that helps. If it does help you can delete it :)
Backup and remove the registry key as wel.
It's starting iojoyo.exe on startup but it's not appearing in the running processes... It either stops, or is hidden.

DaveSW

ok tick the boxes next to the following entries,

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [svqcuzcekqv] C:\WINDOWS\system32\iojoyo.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows TaskAd] C:\Program Files\Windows TaskAd\WinTaskAd.exe

choose 'fix checked', then reboot in safe mode (repeatedly press f8 during startup), and delete the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\iojoyo.exe

and delete this folder:
C:\Program Files\Windows TaskAd\

If you can't find them follow the instructions here http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2002092715262339?Open&src=ent&docid=2002092514302348&nsf=ent-security.nsf&view=docid&dtype=corp&prod=Symantec%20AntiVirus%20Corporate%20Edition&ver=8.x&osv=&osv_lvl= to show hidden files and folders, then try to delete them again.

Then reboot normally, post a new log, and see if the links work.
As a further step I personally would go 'start' -> 'run' then type 'regedit', then 'edit' -> 'search' to find all entries relating to 'iojoyo.exe', and delete them. However if your computer runs without any error messages then maybe you won't want to bother.

Cheers
Dave

ok first off a little note on stopsignav and eanthology:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm#ss_note
I assume you installed them yourself. Personally I reccomend Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware, but it seems the ones you're using may have cleaned their act up.

tick the following just to clean it up.
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {ED103D9F-3070-4580-AB1E-E5C179C1AE41} - (no file)

other than that I don't see any problems.

For your beeps, can you tell us more about when, where, how many etc?

Also it might be a good idea to run regedit, and delete any keys that refer to iojoyo.exe. Be careful if you decide to do it though.

Hi thanks for that.

Yeah the beeps they started while windows was loading and usually when im online, sounds like a pop up has been blocked but its not that. Sometimes it happens a few in a row  it started when I cleaned up this link thing

When you say when windows is loading... is that before or after you get to the 'logging in' part? if it's before then you may have some hardware happening to fail at the same time, since windows programs don't start loading till then. If it's after then post a new log and I'll doublecheck it. It may be a stray entry left somewhere in your registry.

Also is the beep from the computer's internal speaker or the external ones?

Hi are you not sick of me yet? lol
Yeah its after login just when the desktop is coming up.

Its the external speakers cos if I have them switched down I cant hear it

the log is fine, though I've just realised there is a newer version, so if it wouldn't be too much hassle it might be a good idea to update, either using the built in update feature or redownload:
