Use mine as an example when posting yours so I can get an idea of what is in your box. My system's stats: Processor: pentium 4 northwood, 2.6ghz, running at 2.8 ghz, 800mhz fsb, ht, 512 l2 cache Ram: 512 mb, ddr 400 main hard drive (the hd the os is on): 40gb, 7200 rpm video: ti4200 w/ 128mb ram something like that would help me identify the problem, you can get more specific by giving me video card ram speed, or ram cas latencies, etc. If you do not know the specs on your machine that I listed above and your pc is one made by a large company (dell, hp, etc) then just post a link to your system and I might be able to look at it. If this is not a hardware issue you might have a lot of spyware running on your pc, or just too much stuff running in the background at one time in general. DaveSW 12-06-2004, 06:33 AM To check on the virus/spyware/running programs option then download Hijackthis, http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html then put it into a permenant directory, run it, choose 'scan', 'save log', then post the logfile in here. lynn 12-31-2004, 06:36 AM is there a way fix this ???? Unless the application is open source and you can just reprogram it. Tecknoh 12-31-2004, 06:29 PM Usually start with the basics. Take a look at your running processes, if any look unfamiliar to you, visit http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/ and see what they are. I would also perform a disk cleanup, a hard drive defrag. If you run windows 2k or XP, you can use control-alt-delete to access the Process menu which will help you figure out what programs are sucking up your resources. Also available from this menu is the performance tab, which will show you how much of your total page file, memory, and CPU is being utilized, how much is free, etc. Good Luck webdeveloper.com
